SOVAI Instructions on Entering Transactions
Instructions for: Customer Bill-Pay Credit Card Transactions.
1. Call Bill-Pay Authorization Number: 1-866.... (Customer Bill-Pay phone number will be provided)

2. System says "Enter your customer pin number, then press #"

  • Customer will enter their SOVAI pin number and press the "#" sign.
  • System will give the merchant's business name ("Ex: "You are looking to pay Sues Shoe Store, if this company is correct press 1, to re-enter your pin number, press 2, or hangup.")

3 System says "Enter your credit card number, then press #"

  • Customer will enter their credit card number then press the "#" sign. 

4. System says "Enter your two digit expiration month followed by two digit expiration year, then press #"

  • Customer will enter their 4 digit credit card expiration date (in MMYY format: example December 2010 would be "1210") then press the "#" sign. 

5. System says "Enter your billing street number or PO Box number, then press #"

  • Customer will enter their billing street number or PO box number.  Example: If the customer's billing street address is "145 Main Street", they would enter "145", or if the customer's billing address is "PO Box 9058" they would enter "9058", then press the "#" sign.

6. System says "Enter your billing zip code, then press #"

  • Customer will enter their billing zip code, then press the "#" sign.

7. System says "Enter your CVV2 code, then press #"

  • Customer will enter their CVV2 code (this is the special 3 digit code on the back of Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards and the special 4-digit code on the front of American Express cards.

8. System says "Enter the payment amount, then press #"

  • Customer should enter the amount of their payment using the "*" key on their phone as the decimal point separating dollars and cent's.  For example, if the transaction amount is $10.85 they would punch in "10 * 85". Then press "#".

9. The system will give the customer a transaction response (Approved or Not approved and the reason), the merchant will be emailed all transaction results including the AVS response and CVV2 response.

  • After the response is given, customer may press "1" to repeat the response code or "2" to return to the main menu.
  • The merchant will now be able to view this touch-tone transaction in their SOVAI Merchant Control Panel and track which of your customers submitted the transaction.
